What is Project 2025?

Project 2025 is a conservative policy agenda led by the Heritage Foundation, designed to reshape U.S. governance and public policy, particularly in the event of a second Trump term. The project outlines aggressive reforms in areas like tax policy, healthcare, immigration, and social services. It proposes significant tax cuts, especially for corporations and high-income earners, while aiming to dismantle social welfare programs like Medicaid and Social Security. Additionally, it supports further restrictions on immigration, including stricter border controls and measures to limit immigrant access to benefits, alongside reducing government regulations and oversight in favor of a more decentralized system.

The agenda also emphasizes cultural conservatism, targeting policies that support LGBTQ+ rights, particularly regarding transgender healthcare and protections. It advocates for banning gender-affirming care for minors and restricting the scope of civil rights protections for racial minorities and women. Project 2025 would reshape healthcare by rolling back the Affordable Care Act and reducing federal involvement in healthcare. It also seeks to restrict reproductive rights, particularly by undermining abortion access. These proposed changes would likely have a disproportionate negative impact on vulnerable groups, including women, minorities, and low-income communities, while benefiting wealthier individuals and corporations
